The insertion of a small needle often works small wonders.
Acupuncture is tried and true,
and helps with a wide variety of complaints.
ACUPUNCTURE
Acupuncture and implant acupuncture in Hamburg
In China, acupuncture has been a tried and tested treatment method for various complaints for thousands of years. In Germany, it is becoming increasingly popular as a supplement to conventional medicine, as it is an effective treatment with few side effects.
According to Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), illnesses of the body and psyche arise from an energy imbalance in the so-called meridians and the associated organs. This can be influenced by means of acupuncture.
Dr. Prochnow has been professionally involved with traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) and acupuncture since 2012. He is also a certified implant acupuncturist and, as of today, the only doctor in Hamburg with this additional training.

INTERFERENCE THERAPY
Many people suffer from non-specific complaints that occur and persist after events such as operations, accidents, or dental treatments. These include non-specific complaints of the gastrointestinal area, migraines, rheumatism, non-specific visual disturbances, allergies, neurodermatitis and many more. Often there are no conventional medical causes. All too often patients’ issues are stigmatized as “psychosomatic”, although the above-mentioned complaints may be based on a hidden functional disorder.
In my practice, I take the time to examine a problem in depth and, together with you, I search for so-called trouble spots. These can be hidden, for example, behind dental implants, root canaled teeth, surgical scars, chronic inflammation of the tonsils and sinuses or even simple tendon/ligament injuries.
Following the diagnosis, I draw up an individualized therapy concept with you. Be it conventional medicine and / or complementary medicine, we will find the right path together.
Your health is our incentive!
Acupuncture - The possibilities of its application
Dr. Prochnow uses both ear acupuncture and body acupuncture to treat his patients. In order to prolong the effect of an acupuncture treatment if necessary, permanent needles, permanent magnets, or implant needles are also used in his private practice for holistic ENT. Otherwise, acupuncture sessions otherwise required at frequent intervals can often be reduced or even avoided.
LONG-TERM ACUPUNCTURE
IMPLANT ACUPUNCTURE
As a certified implant acupuncturist, Dr. Prochnow can offer you the possibility of therapy using implant acupuncture needles. Such an acupuncture needle consists of a polymer sugar and is inserted under the skin into an active acupuncture point on the ear. The implant acupuncture needles dissolve completely in a period of up to 18 months. This provides a sustained stimulation of a symptom point and prolongs the effect of a treatment accordingly. Repeated, timely presentations for further acupuncture therapy sessions within the effective period of an implant needle can thus be significantly reduced or possibly even completely avoided.
The type as well as the duration of the application and further therapy options are discussed individually depending on the clinical picture and the patient’s wishes.
